Starline Brass is known for producing some of the highest quality brass cases available. Their brass consists of 70 percent copper and 30 percent zinc and is vertically drawn during manufacturing to achieve more uniform wall thickness. Cases are annealed between each drawing stage to maintain consistent metallurgy across all production lots. Every brass case is individually hand inspected to ensure the highest possible quality standard.
Starline Brass is based in Sedalia Missouri and has been operating for more than 30 years. Trust Starline for your next reloads and you will not be disappointed. This is new unprimed brass and not loaded ammunition. Bulk brass should be full length sized, trimmed, and chamfered before loading.
Brass Preparation: With bulk rifle brass you may sometimes notice that a few case mouths are out of round or slightly dented just below the shoulder. These marks can occur during the final tumbling and washing process after the case mouth has been annealed. Brass manufacturers are aware of these cosmetic conditions and continue working to reduce them, but due to equipment design, minor denting can still appear. Small dents are normally removed during the first firing and do not affect case life or performance. On non plated brass, you may also notice that some anneal staining has not been fully polished away, which can leave the case neck with a light pink color. With some smaller caliber cases you may also see slightly belled case mouths.
With all new rifle brass you should first straighten the case and case mouth, then chamfer and deburr the case mouth inside and outside. To straighten the case mouth, run the case partway into the sizing die and allow the expander ball to help align the brass. To prevent stretching of the case neck, be sure to lubricate the inside of the case mouth.
If you are using nickel plated brass, special care must be taken to lubricate the cases before sizing. Nickel plating is harder than brass and therefore requires more effort during sizing. If a case becomes stuck, use a proper stuck case remover and avoid using pliers, screwdrivers, or other household tools that could damage your sizing die.
